Irving TX News: Woman Arrested in Connection to Violent Waffle House Robbery and Shooting
A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a brazen armed robbery and shooting that left three people injured in the parking lot of a Waffle House in Irving. The incident occurred on June 7, 2025, near the intersection of Irving Boulevard and Loop 12. The suspect, Kendahl Dnaye Williams, was taken into custody by Irving Police officers on Tuesday, July 8, and now faces multiple felony charges.
According to Irving news reports and an arrest affidavit from Irving Police, the shooting occurred after the victims, including a man identified as Johnson, had left a birthday celebration at several Dallas-area nightclubs. Surveillance footage and phone records show the suspects, riding in a black 2023 Chrysler 300 registered to Williams, followed Johnson from his Dallas apartment to the Waffle House.
Just after 6:00 a.m., five individuals exited the Chrysler and opened fire on the victims as they approached their vehicle in the Waffle House parking lot. Johnson fell to the ground, at which point two suspects ran up to him, searched his pockets, and stole cash and his phone before fleeing. All three victims were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Investigators later tied Williams to the crime after tracking her cell phone activity and social media communications. The Chrysler 300 was seen on traffic and surveillance cameras at several key locations during the night of the incident, including the same nightclubs visited by the victims and the scene of the shooting.
Later that same morning, at 9:23 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a car fire at 4880 Beeman Avenue, where they discovered the Chrysler 300 intentionally set ablaze. Williams had reported the vehicle stolen earlier that day to Dallas Police. However, her story changed multiple times, and investigators found her phone had been in the area during the vehicle fire.
A forensic analysis of Williams’ phone, social media accounts, and vehicle data revealed that she was closely involved in the robbery. Authorities believe she coordinated transportation, allowed her vehicle to be used in the crime, and assisted in the destruction of evidence.
Detailed Timeline of Events from Irving Police Investigation:

Investigation and Arrest
Williams initially claimed the vehicle had been stolen the night before. However, inconsistencies in her statements raised suspicion. She could not name the friends she was supposedly with, stating she only contacted them through Instagram. Cell tower data placed her phone with the Chrysler 300 throughout the night, including near the vehicle when it was torched.
Williams was arrested by Irving Police at 2:06 p.m. on July 8 and booked into the Irving Jail. The following day, she was transferred to Dallas County Jail, where she remains held on a $400,000 bond.
Charges Filed:
- Aggravated Robbery (3 counts – First-Degree Felony): Her vehicle was used to stalk and ambush the victims, and physical evidence tied her to the planning of the attack.
- Tampering with Physical Evidence (Third-Degree Felony): Investigators believe she was involved in the effort to destroy the Chrysler 300 to conceal evidence.
The Irving Police Department is continuing the investigation and is working to identify and apprehend the five armed suspects seen in the surveillance footage.
