For freshmen and sophomores, our counselors can help students select courses, extracurricular options and volunteer opportunities that will help them be admitted to the school of their choice. Then, as the all-important junior year approaches, our counselors are there to help students as they explore their options and begin to narrow their choices. We provide honest, individualized guidance to students based not only on transcripts, but on each student’s interests, goals and aspirations. Through this counseling, students not only explore which colleges and universities compliment their unique qualifications, but also which ones are more likely to admit students like them. We then plan with the student how to best satisfy the application requirements for the colleges and universities of their choice. This gives students a realistic outlook and achievable timetable for the college application process.

Whether students come to us from the beginning or later in their academic career, our college counselors are ready to help with the all the components of the college application process. We can advise students about which classes or standardized tests to take. We can tutor students for the SAT and ACT so that their scores meet the requirements of the college or university of their choice. We can guide students through writing a dynamic college application essay. Our college counselors are experts at helping students choose a topic that allows them to shine, as well as providing revision and editing assistance throughout the drafting process. Working together, the student and college counselor put together a truly compelling application.

Finally, our college counselors can help families explore their options and plan for the cost of college. We work with students to find and apply for scholarships for which they may be eligible. We also provide help filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) that colleges and universities use as the basis for grants and loans, as well as any other paperwork that may be necessary for other types of financial aid.
